Branded catering service & origin
The catering crockery we offer is from the young and modern Portuguese brand Terrafina. This means "fine earth" in Portuguese and is a reference to the pure stoneware that comes from the rich clay soils of Alcobaça. This is one of the Portuguese regions known for the provenance of ceramics. Terrafina's catering tableware is available exclusively from UNRO in Belgium, the Netherlands & Luxembourg.
Catering service range
Terrafina has several collections of gourmet serving and tableware. This Portuguese brand is very innovative, making its designs and quality of Portuguese tableware relevant and contemporary. Thus, the range of catering tableware is expanded every year with new products, models and collections. Currently, there are 2 main collections of Portuguese catering tableware:
Boa Mesa tableware
Boa Mesa means "beautiful table" in Portuguese and refers to the beautifully set table and luxurious table experience you can create with the tableware from the Boa Mesa hospitality tableware collection. Amazonia & Black Stone
The tableware from the Amazonia collection is available in green, blue, cream and white (with beige/brown trim). The Black Stone tableware is a matt black tableware with a subtle organic structure that makes the black tableware special. Both the Amazonia and Black Stone dinnerware are also available in smaller quantities, ideal if you have a smaller-scale restaurant or bed & breakfast. But also if you want to use our crockery to present your dishes beautifully in, for example, a cookbook, your website and/or your social media!
For larger purchases of the Amazonia and Black Stone dinnerware, it concerns the Boa Mesa catering collection. This collection is more extensive in its product range, specially designed for professional use. These include bread plates, sauce dishes, extra large deep plates for pasta and soup (for example, for a luxury bisque), but also rectangular plates, a cake/cheese platter with matching glass bell jar, deep oval dishes and espresso cups with matching saucers.
Vieira
The Vieira tableware collection is the latest addition and available in the colours: blue (gloss), white (gloss), green (gloss), cream (gloss), blue grey matt and beige matt. The Vieira tableware contains the same colours of green, blue, cream and white as the Amazonia tableware but is distinguished by its unique partially ribbed structure reminiscent of a scallop shell. The models of the Viera dinnerware are also different, with the Vieira dinnerware having oval and organic round shapes. Wonderful for serving amuses, fish dishes and desserts, among other things!
Japanese Wabi Sabi tableware
The Japanese Wabi Sabi dinnerware is a limited and special collection dedicated to Japanese cuisine. From traditional Japanese dishes to Asian fusion, fine dining and sushi, this catering service in the variants matt black and sand/light beige is perfect for this! This wabi sabi tableware collection consists of bento plates, sauce dishes (ideal for soy sauce or a sprinkle of wasabi and/or ginger), large and small oblong sushi plates, rice bowls, ramen/noodle bowls, sake bottles and sake cups. Features & quality stoneware catering crockery
Terrafina's tableware and serving dishes are made of pure stoneware. As a result, the tableware and serving dishes are of very high quality. Thus, the stoneware dinnerware is oven-proof (up to 200 ℃), microwave-proof, dishwasher-proof and freezer-proof (up to -20 degrees Celsius).
Stoneware is already naturally a lot less porous than pottery (16%) and porcelain (read here more for the exact differences). This makes stoneware a strong material and heat- and cold-resistant, as explained above. Whereas average stoneware has a porosity of 8%, Terrafina's pure stoneware only has a porosity of even less than 1%. This is unique and with this, Terrafina makes for a rock-solid tableware collection! In addition, Terrafina's stoneware is biscuit fired 2x at very high temperatures after which it is ready for a reactive glaze treatment. In addition to the organic shapes, the reactive glaze provides a beautiful and special finish and gives the tableware its colour.
